Cookie Policy

Last updated: 17 June 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how 8-0-0 (the "game") uses cookies and similar technologies, in line with the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy rules (the "cookie law"). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. "Similar technologies" include local storage and session storage, which a site can use to remember information in your browser. They can be set by the site you're visiting ("first-party") or by another domain ("third-party").

Under the cookie law, strictly necessary technologies — those essential to provide a service you've asked for — can be used without consent. Anything else (analytics, advertising, personalisation) requires your prior, informed consent.

Do we use cookies?

We keep this simple: 8-0-0 does not set any first-party tracking, analytics or advertising cookies. We have no accounts and no advertising, so there is nothing to track you with.

To make the game work we may use your browser's session storage — a strictly-necessary technology — to carry your draft setup (formation, difficulty and ratings) from the setup screen into the game. This information stays in your browser, is not sent to us, and is not used to identify or track you.

Cookies and storage we use

NameTypePurposeDuration
wc_setup (session storage) Strictly necessary Carries your draft setup (formation, difficulty and ratings) from the setup screen into the game. Stored only in your browser. Cleared when you close the tab

We do not currently use any non-essential cookies. If that ever changes (for example, if we add privacy-friendly analytics), we will update this page and ask for your consent through a cookie banner before any such cookies are set.

Third-party services

Some third parties that help deliver the site may receive technical data even though we don't place cookies ourselves:

How to control cookies and storage

You are always in control. You can:

Most browsers explain how to do this in their "Privacy" or "Cookies and site data" settings.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights over any personal data, including the right to withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time. Since we don't use non-essential cookies, there is currently no consent to withdraw. You can read more about how we handle data in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if our use of cookies or storage changes. The "last updated" date above will always reflect the latest version.
