Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 June 2026

8-0-0 ("we", "us", the "game") is a free, fan-made browser game. We have built it to collect as little about you as possible. This policy explains what that means in practice and your rights under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The short version

What we collect

Information you actively give us

The only way you can send us anything is the optional "Report a bug" feature. When you use it, your device's own share sheet opens so you can choose to send us a screenshot and a note via your messaging or email app. Nothing is transmitted automatically — you choose whether to send, and to whom. Any details you include (and the contact channel you send from) are processed only to fix the issue you reported.

Information stored locally on your device

The game may use your browser's session storage to carry your draft setup between the setup screen and the game so the experience works smoothly. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us. You can clear it by closing the tab, or at any time through your browser settings.

Information collected automatically

We do not run our own analytics, advertising, or tracking. However, like virtually all websites, our hosting provider and content delivery networks may automatically log technical information (such as IP address, browser type and timestamps) for security and reliability. See "Third-party services" below.

Third-party services

These providers act as independent processors under their own privacy policies. We do not pass them any personal data ourselves.

Legal basis for processing

Where we process any personal data (e.g. a bug report you send us, or technical logs kept by our providers), we rely on our legitimate interests in keeping the game working, secure and free of bugs (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object to this at any time.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Because we hold almost no personal data, in most cases there is nothing for us to retrieve — but you are welcome to contact us and we will respond. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

The game is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

If we add features that change what data is processed (for example, analytics), we will update this page and, where required, ask for your consent first.
